Haeckel Hill Interconnection Project

ATCO Electric Yukon is working on the completion of the Haeckel Hill Interconnection Project to support the expansion of the Haeckel Hill Wind Park Independent Power Producer. The project consists of upgrades to the existing 25kV distribution power line between Haeckel Hill and Fish Lake Road and the interconnection of the Haeckel Hill Wind Park to ATCO Electric Yukon's (AEY) distribution system. 

Main activities of the project include:

• Access works to the existing right of way
• Powerline wire upgrade 
• Pole replacements 
• Installation of distribution equipment at the turbine site
• Upgrading protection equipment 
• Installation of underground wire to connect the Haeckel Hill Wind Park to the existing power line. 

Project Timeline 

Project activities are scheduled to be completed between June 2022 and September 2023.
